DP World is seeking for a Customs Specialist based in Basel, Switzerland to ensure timely and accurate customs clearance processes for all freight forwarding operations, including air, ocean, and road freight. As a Customs Specialist, you will play a key role in maintaining compliance with Swiss and international customs regulations to support seamless logistics operations. You will act as the key liaison between DP World, customs authorities, and clients to facilitate smooth import and export operation.

How you will contribute

• Manage the full customs clearance process for all import and export shipments across air, ocean, and road freight.
• Prepare and review customs declarations, permits, and other relevant documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Maintain relationships with Swiss customs authorities to facilitate smooth operations.
• Monitor regulatory changes in customs laws and ensure DP World`s compliance with updated procedures.
• Actively solve customs-related issues and provide expert advice to internal teams and clients.
• Maintain accurate records of all customs clearance activities and ensure proper documentation archiving.
• Ensure the highest standards of safety and compliance in all customs-related activities.

What you will bring

• Diploma or degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field. A certification in customs clearance or similar is a plus.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in customs operations within freight forwarding, including air, ocean, and road freight.
• Direct experience with Swiss customs authorities and procedures with a strong understanding of customs laws, especially Swiss regulations.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on compliance and documentation accuracy.
• Effective communicator, able to collaborate across teams and with external stakeholders.
• Confidentiality - You consider and protect the confidentiality of company data at ALL times.
• Fluency in German and English – additional languages are a plus, in particular Dutch and French.
