Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking to employ a Learning Support Assistant for 5 mornings and 3 afternoons, together with 30 minutes Midday Supervising Assistant cover each day. As part of the role, the successful applicant will be supporting individual pupils potentially in upper Key Stage 1 and lower key stage. These children with additional needs will be supported one to one as well as in small groups.
You will:
- genuinely enjoy working with children
- have strong interpersonal skills to build positive and supportive relationships with children, staff and parents
- possess good literacy, numeracy (at least C grade at GCSE or equivalent) and computing skills
- be aware of the curriculum requirements for Primary Schools
- be a team player with a positive attitude
- be flexible and have the ability to use your own initiative to support the learning needs of children
- be calm under pressure
- have experience of working with SEND pupils in schools or other settings
- have experience working with small groups to teach phonics.
